HISTORICAL USES OF THE HERBS IN THIS PRODUCT 

Licorice Root- is one of the most widely used herbs in Traditional Chinese Medicine and it has many hormonal and metabolic regulatory properties. Licorice root affects the hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal HPA axis and impacts adrenal hormones by enhancing cortisol production when it is low and enhancing excretion of cortisol through the urine when it is high. Licorice Root helps with exhaustion, loss of strength, weight loss, and debility. Licorice Root may also improve insulin resistance.
 
Reishi Mushroom- is called the “mushroom of immortality “. It contains b-glucans and immune modulators, these are credited with anti viral, tissue protective, and metabolic actions. Reishi may help protect the nerves from oxidative stress and support the immune system in situations of poor immunity. Reishi is protective of the HPA axis.
 
Holy Basil- protects the heart from stress, lowers blood pressure and cholesterol levels, and stabilizes blood sugar levels. Holy Basil reduces feelings of stress and increases the feelings of joy and happiness.
 
Siberian Ginseng- works as an adrenal tonic in both hyper and hypo function of the adrenal gland. It is indicated for long term stress resulting in nervous symptoms, fatigue, poor sleep, and poor stamina with easy exhaustion following minor exertion. Siberian Ginseng helps to relieve stress, improves stamina and general energy in cases of chronic fatigue. It may help modulate the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal HPA axis response to stress through an attenuation corticosterone response.
 
Schisandra Berry- is a stimulating adaptogen and general tonic. In Traditional Chinese Medicine it is taught that Schisandra Berry harmonizes the body and helps to retain energy. It helps balance the nervous system.
